The Science of the impossible
How to stop all wars and terrorism…
in a matter of weeks

What you will read below will probably sound incredible…too good to be true…but it has been thoroughly researched in more than 250 universities and research institutes including:

university-logos-EU

This research reveals a new technology that would allow us to:

  • Significantly improve our health, and bring our healthcare costs down by more than 50%.
  • Develop our full brain potential, rather than the small fraction we’re currently using.
  • And even stop all wars, terrorism and corruption…in a matter of weeks.

This technology is already used by several governments around the world, as we’ll see later, but not widely enough. They sound so crazy at first sight that governments are just afraid their voters won’t understand, and that’s usually bad for votes…

That’s why I created this website. I spent 15 years researching this technology and finding ways to explain how it works in simple words. Originally I wanted to write a book, but I decided to give it away for free instead. It’s just too important. People have to know about this.

I actually feel a bit guilty for not doing it earlier. I’m a Belgian living near Brussels, where, in spite of more heavily armed military and police on our streets than ever before, terrorists were still able to casually walk into our airport and subways and set off their bombs. If this information had gone out earlier, we could have probably prevented it.

If you don’t have time to read the whole text… I hope you’ll decide that what I’m about to tell you is important enough to give it your time, but if your time is limited then I wanted to at least give you a highlight of the main points, which you can find in these beige boxes throughout the text.

A study that will blow your mind

In 1983 Lebanon was like Syria is now, a country ravaged by civil war, and probably the most stressed place on Earth. So a group of scientists in Jerusalem decided to make a bold experiment. They predicted Lebanonthat people could be trained to bring their minds in a state where they access a field of consciousness that interconnects all of us. They claimed that through this field they could create an effect that will cause other humans to start thinking and behaving in a more positive, harmonious manner. They even claimed the effect would be so strong that a small group of only 200 volunteers in Jerusalem using this technology would be able to stop the war in neighbouring Lebanon.

It happened exactly as they predicted. During the time of the experiment, war death in Lebanon dropped by 94%, from an average of 24.5 per day to an average of 1.5 per day.

This study was published in one of the most prestigious journals on peace studies in the world, the Journal of conflict resolution, published by Yale University.Ref.Journal of Conflict Resolution, vol. 32, no.4, Dec. 1988, pp. 776-812. The study was so controversial, however, that the editors investigated the study for more than 2 years before they were willing to link their reputation to it:

  1. Did the change in group size really cause the change? (Statistics indicated that yes, the change in group size usually came first, and the effect followed)
  2. Could it be a coincidence? (No, the chance of coincidence was less than one in 10.000)
  3. Could there be an alternative explanation for the change, like days of the week, holidays, weather changes etc.? (No, no alternative cause could have predicted these changes).

As crazy as it all sounded, the editors concluded that the data was solid, and they should publish it.

Over the past 40 years 40 similar experiments have taken place, of which 20 have been published in similar prestigious journals. Every single time the effect happened exactly as predicted beforehand, and I can assure you that a lot of them were far more spectacular than this one.

What if I told you that this technology played a crucial role in bringing an end to the Cold War?

If I told you this, you were probably about to stop reading this nonsense right now… If there is a technology to bring peace to the world, and it actually works, why isn’t everybody using it?

The answer is simple: because this technology just simply doesn’t make sense.

It would only make sense if
1. There would indeed be a field that connects all of us at the source of our thoughts.
2. There would be a way for people to access this field and create a positive influence from there, which changes people’s thoughts and behaviours.
3. This influence would be so strong that a small group of people would be able to influence the behaviour of a much larger group.

These all seem so far-fetched that it’s a lot easier to believe that this technology doesn’t exist, and the experiments were just coincidences. That is in fact what most people believe, and that is why the technology hasn’t been implemented.

Of course they could be coincidences, but what would be the chance that they would be able to repeat this 40 times, each time with exact predictions in advance?

Statisticians could actually calculate this.

In a study that was published in another international journal, the Journal of Social Behavior and Personality, scientists calculated that from 7 experiments during the war in Lebanon alone the chance that the war stopped by coincidence, rather than the predicted effect, was one in ten million trillion.

That’s a big number so let me put that in perspective for you.lottery

The chance that you’ll win the lottery this week is about one in 50 million. So the chance that this sudden breaking out of peace every time the experiments were done, was due to coincidence would be 2 billion times smaller.

If I were you I’d go to buy a lottery ticket right now, because your chances look astronomically high this week.

Or… you can keep reading and give me a chance to explain to you that the 3 points above are not nearly as far-fetched as they seem at first sight. Once we see them in the right perspective, we’ll see that they actually make a lot of sense, and we’ll see that a lot of other things start to make a lot more sense as well.

Welcome to the Field Paradigm.

I. The Field Paradigm: Here’s how it works… and how we lost it

couple-dining1. You and me… we are separate – or not?

When we look around us, we see many distinct objects, all separate from each other. There’s a chair, a table, and nothing in between. Likewise we see ourselves as separate from each other. I am here, you are there, there is nothing in between. Because our bodies are separate, we believe that our minds are as well.

But that’s not how it really is.

In ancient times people had a different paradigm. They believed that all of life was part of one big whole and that their individual conscious minds were like waves on an ocean of a higher universal consciousness.

me-and-obamaThey believed this ocean had all the qualities that are usually associated with a divine being, like pure love, omnipresence, omniscience etc. They saw this not as an individual being, however, but as a universal field of consciousness of which they were all a part.

As romantic as it may sound to be a part of some higher force, this can’t be possible, right? Our consciousness is clearly localized to our bodies, and our bodies are clearly separate from each other. So then our consciousness must be separate as well.

Well… Yes and no. It all depends on how we see it.

compWe see the relation of body and mind as a computer. The hardware (brain) creates the software (mind). This feels like a logical analogy. Turn the hardware off (sleep) and the software stops working, damage of the hardware (brain damage) will have a clear influence on the quality of the software, and if the computer is permanently broken (death), it’s “game over”. From that perspective we would have to be clearly separate from each other. We all have separate computers, each running their separate software.

radio300The way people in ancient times people saw the relationship between body and mind is more accurately described like a radio. The music is clearly connected to the hardware of the radio. Turn the radio off and the music stops playing. Mess with the hardware of the radio and the quality of the music will be clearly affected, and if the hardware is permanently damaged the music stops.

In the case of the radio, however, the music is expressed through the hardware and is connected to it, but it’s not coming from the hardware. The music itself is a vibration on the Electromagnetic field that connects everything with everything else. Fields have that quality of omnipresence, they are everywhere. We can broadcast a radio signal in one point and receive it at any other point around it, because through the Electromagnetic field every point is connected to every other point.

We also know that this field can vibrate in many different ways at the same time, just like an ocean can rise in many different waves at the same time.

  • 101.7 FM: Rock
  • 103.5 FM: Pop
  • 106.4 FM: Dance

Each human body is then just like a radio tuned in to one specific frequency, so that each can have their own music, their own thoughts. But at the source of our thoughts we are connected to everyone and everything. Our minds are localised to our bodies, yet at the same time they are part of something much larger than our bodies, something that connects all of us.

In ancient times this wasn’t just people’s belief system, it was their actual experience.

subounscious mind

They had a way to bring their minds in a state where they were completely conscious and alert, but at the same time completely silent. A wave that becomes completely silent becomes the ocean. They had a conscious experience of their unity with everything and everyone.

They called this experience transcending, because they transcended the boundaries of their individual mind and brought it to an unbounded state.

Transcending was like taking a dive into the ocean. They create a splash and enliven the surface of the water. The qualities of this field of consciousness that were latent in their awareness – qualities of unity, peace, energy and creativity – suddenly became lively.

love-waves2. Transcending=radiating love

The quality of omnipresence, for example, people experienced as love. What is love? When we love somebody, we feel connected to this person, right? This is what love is, an experience of feeling connected, even if there’s nothing physical that connects us. We can have this experience because we are all connected to each other at the source of our minds.

That is why we sometimes send money to people at the other side of the world after a natural disaster. These are people that we don’t know, and will never meet, and still we want to help, because somehow, one way or the other, we feel connected to them.

Here’s one of the oldest questions of humanity, “why do we love”, finally answered, and it’s really very simple. Love doesn’t make sense from a paradigm of separation (computers don’t love). From a paradigm of connectedness, on the other hand, love is simply an experience of our true nature.  Just as the Bible said “God is love”, the Field Paradigm says: “we are, in essence, love”.

When people transcended regularly, they enlivened and strengthened this connection in their own awareness, and simply started experiencing this connection to others, and to nature, all the time. Some people even talked about “unconditional love”.

waterTranscending also had another even more interesting side-effect, however. When people dive into the ocean, they don’t just create a splash where they dive in, but also waves that spread around the entire ocean. This quality of feeling connected to each other was not only enlivened in the person doing the transcending, but in people around them also started to feel more connected to each other.

As a result they would spontaneously change their behaviour. Yesterday people didn’t feel anything wrong with hurting their neighbour in order to get something for themselves, today it just doesn’t feel right anymore. They can’t explain why they changed their minds, they just did.

The techniques to transcend were essentially techniques to “radiate positivity”, or “radiate love”, just like a lightbulb radiates light.

3. Losing the ability to transcend: how our true nature became hidden

Over time people forgot the techniques to transcend, however, and as such their experience also started to change. They no longer had the ability to train their minds to develop their deeper layers, and started living more from only the most superficial layers of their minds, only the top part of the wave.

The mind suddenly was split in 2 parts, what today in psychology we call the conscious and subconscious mind.

con-sub-mindThe ocean was now hidden in our subconscious mind (Carl Jung called this the “collective unconscious”, the part of our unconscious mind that we share collectively). People simply forgot about their connection to nature, and to each other.

This caused their paradigm to change. They still believed that there was some kind of higher being that controlled everything in the Universe, but they started to see this higher being as a person, separate from us, rather than a field of which they were all a part.

We will call this the God Paradigm, a belief that they were separate from the higher being.

Then scientists started to explain phenomena in nature more and more as material processes: little balls called atoms interacting with other little balls through force fields like gravity or electromagnetism. Suddenly there was no higher being necessary anymore to explain why the sun came up or why we become sick. People started to believe there might be nothing higher at all. The universe just functions as one big predictable mechanical machine.

We will call this the Machine Paradigm, a belief that there is no higher being.

II. Field Paradigm rediscovered

The more we were able to understand the laws of nature, and the more technologies we developed as a result – obviously bringing more material comfort into our lives -, the more we started to see the Machine Paradigm as the ultimate reality. Until we even started to believe that life itself was an expression of material processes, like in our computer analogy. The hardware creeinsteinates the software.

But very soon somebody came to spoil the party: Albert Einstein.

Few people are aware that when Einstein got his Nobel Prize, it wasn’t for his famous E=Mc2 formula that lead to atomic energy, or for his General Theory of Relativity, but rather for a paper he wrote which led to an even more important discovery in physics: the Quantum physics revolution.

Quantum physics revealed that our concept of the universe being built up out of little material balls was just an illusion. Even the most basic building blocks of nature, like electrons, were in reality vibrations on fields that only appeared as matter. The difference between matter and empty space is just that wherever there’s matter the field vibrates, whereas in empty space it doesn’t.

electronfield-2-men

Einstein took it one step further, however, and predicted that ultimately physicists would find mathematical formulas that would describe how all force field and all matter fields at the source of all of creation, would ultimately themselves come from different vibrations of one single field, one field that creates everything from itself.

This is probably a difficult concept to grasp, so let me explain this a bit more in detail.

The Electromagnetic field can create many different phenomena in nature. Depending on the wavelength with which it vibrates it can manifest as radiowaves, microwaves, light, x-rays etc.

waves

Now the cool thing about fields is that they can vibrate at all these different frequencies at the same time. You have probably noticed that you can turn on the light, the radio and your microwave oven at the same time, without any problem. This is because the EM field can vibrate both as light frequencies, radio frequencies and microwave frequencies at the same time.

In the same way Einstein predicted that one day physicists would find mathematical equations to describe one single underlying unified field that can manifest itself as electromagnetism by vibrating one way, as gravity by vibrating another way, as electrons and protons by vibrating in yet other ways etcetera and it can co this all at the same time.

In 1983 these equations where found, exactly as Einstein predicted, what they call Unified Field (or CERNsuperstring) theories. In fact, the main purpose of the largest and most expensive physics experiment in history, the $8 Billion Large Hadron Collider in CERN in Switzerland, is to verify them (the discovery of the Higgs boson was an important step). They are coming so close now that they expect in a very short time  they can claim an experimental verification of the Unified Field theories.

A field that creates everything from itself, as now described by physics, would by definition have to have the qualities that we earlier connected to a divine being: omnipresence, omniscience and omnipotence. It would have to be everywhere, know everything and be able to create everything. Awareness, intelligence and creativity, these are the core qualities of consciousness. Modern science is about to confirm what the oldest texts in history predicted 5000 years ago: that consciousness is a field.

The story of these discoveries, and why they all point to a field of consciousness is a fascinating one on it’s own, and you can read more about it here.

Here we’ll focus on the practical applications of this technology.

The basic axiom of the Machine Paradigm was that matter creates consciousness (like in the computer analogy). Nobody has actually been able to prove this, but we just assumed it was the truth. The basic axiom of the Field Paradigm is the opposite: Consciousness is primary, and consciousness creates everything from itself, yet, at the same time, this field consciousness can get a physical, individual expression through the human nervous system (like in the radio analogy).

Once you start assuming that the Radio analogy is the more accurate description of the real truth, and that we are indeed like individual waves on an ocean, so we can have both our individual identity and be part of a larger whole, you’ll be surprised how quickly a lot of things start to make a lot more sense, such as intuition, near-death experience, etc. You can read more on how everything makes more sense here.

Far more interesting, however, are the practical technologies that suddenly become possible with the Field Paradigm.

III. Field paradigm technologies

1. Rediscovering the natural technique to transcend

If we are part of a field that has the divine qualities of omnipresence, omniscience and omnipotence then this must mean that we have these qualities as well, even if they are hidden deep inside our subconscious minds.

As we have already seen, if we really are waves on an ocean, then if we could bring our minds in a state of complete silence, we could theoretically experience the ocean itself.

sub-con-mind

But how do you make the mind completely silent? Have you ever tried this? It sounds almost impossible. The more you try to make it silent, the more you only keep it active, and an active wave cannot merge with the ocean. This process of making the mind quiet was commonly understood as “meditation”, but the natural process of transcending got lost and people started trying to meditate, (usually through some form of concentration on the breath, a sound, or your thoughts). You can’t force the mind to be silent. The more you try the more frustrated you become.cantmeditatecrpd

Nowadays the best thing people can hope for when they meditate is some relaxation, and even that doesn’t always work, because concentrating on something is often everything but relaxing. The true purpose of meditation, to come back in touch with our true divine essence, got completely lost.

Or better, almost lost. There was still a group of masters in the Himalayan mountains, completely secluded from the rest of mankind, who still had the knowledge and were able to keep it in its pure form for thousands of years.

And so it happened that in 1958 an Indian scientist, who had spent 13 years as a student of one of the last masters of this tradition, arrived in the West with a simple message:

We don’t have to force the mind to be silent. With the right technique it will happen naturally. Meditation, if practiced correctly, is the easiest thing you’ve ever done…and anyone can learn to do it.

The physicist’s name was Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. To distinguish his technique from all the hundreds of Maharishi Airplaneother forms of meditation he called it Transcendental Meditation, or TM, as it quickly became known.

As soon as he started teaching this technique, people felt that this was something different, something authentic. They felt the effects from the first sitting, and often reported them as life-changing.

The rest is history. Over the next 50 years the Transcendental Meditation technique became the most practiced “relaxation” technique in the world, with over 6 million people learning it.

collected_papers-7Over the past 45 years more than 250 universities have participated in 600 TM studies resulting in 350 publications in more than 100 scientific journals around the world…6000 pages of scientific research.

However, if everyone understood what TM really is, far more than just a relaxation technique, the number of practitioners would be without doubt much higher.

2. How transcending really works

To understand what TM really is it’s crucial to understand how the complete inner silence we experience during transcending is fundamentally different from just relaxation. It brings effects that ordinary relaxation could never bring:

  1. Being your (higher) self: Self-confidence, self acceptance, emotional stability, intuition, feeling connected to nature, loving relationships
  2. Deep state of physical rest (far deeper than ordinary relaxation): Less stress, better health, more happiness.
  3. Complete brain coherence. IQ, Creativity, learning ability, success
2.1. Being your higher self

The one thing people most often describe when they learned to transcend was a feeling of coming back home.

One of the great wisdoms of virtually every ancient tradition in the world is that the highest spiritual experience is simply being yourself. This actually never made sense… until we understand what transcending really is.

scroll2

Once we understand that true silence (transcending) is both being yourself and is the highest spiritual experience (the individual wave becoming quiet and merging with the universal ocean), this wisdom suddenly starts to make a lot more sense.

I am

Normally our attention is directed outwards, away from “I am”, towards the things we observe, do, or think. We loose ourselves in the world around us.
When the mind comes to a state of true silence, where we don’t observe, do or think anything, the mind comes home. True silence is simply being ourselves.

So when the mind is in a state of complete inner silence, it is both completely itself, and at the same time it experiences it’s true nature, the wave experiencing the ocean.

This experience is one of the most powerful transformative experiences we can have. The effects that people notice are: more being yourself, more inner calm and emotional stability (keeping your inner balance), more self-confidence and self-acceptance, being more in touch with your own deepest desires, stronger connection to nature, better intuition, more love in relationships etc.

A comparative analysis of 41 meditation studies on increased self-actualisation (being yourself) found that transcending through the TM technique was 3 to 4 times as effective as any other meditation technique ever researched. This is the difference between relaxation and the complete inner silence that naturally comes during transcending.

2.2. Deep rest – removing deep stresses

Mind and body go together. When the mind comes into a state of complete inner silence, the body will follow, and go in a state of deep relaxation.

deep-restWhen researchers at Harvard Medical School tried to measure how deep this relaxation was they found, to their surprise, that the rest (especially during the experience of transcending itself) appeared to go far deeper than even deep sleep. It also went into this state far more quickly, in mere seconds, whereas during sleep it usually takes several hours.

This brings us to the biggest problems of our age: stress.

Stress is like a backpack full of rocks that you carry with you. backpackEvery experience you go through is stored somewhere in the physical nervous system. If that experience is very intense, like for example when you have a fight with someone, you feel this very clearly physically, for example a knot around the heart.

Fortunately the body has a mechanism to remove these rocks from our backpack again, and we don’t even have to do anything. The body will do so automatically as soon as it is in a state of rest. This is why we sleep, to allow our nervous system to remove the accumulated tensions of the previous day.

The problem is that our sleep is not enough, and it doesn’t go deep enough. We all know this. If, after a big fight, we sleep over it, the knot might be less intense, but it’s still there. The sleep was not able to remove it. This will probably become a rock in our backpack that we’ll be carrying with us for the rest of our lives.

If we accumulate too many rocks (stresses), the weight on our shoulders will start to disrupt the normal functioning of our nervous system, which results in all kinds of physical and mental problems. It is estimated that 90% of all our health problems are either directly or indirectly related to stress.

But when people learn to transcend, something almost magical happens.

The best example of this can be seen with people who have more rocks in their backpacks than just about anybody else: War veterans suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder.

PTSD is a condition where stresses are so deeply rooted that it is normally considered incurable. The results are tragic. For example, over the past 15 years more U.S. soldiers have died at home from suicide than on the battlefield in Iraq or Afghanistan combined. They just didn’t see any other way out anymore.

cnn no backgroundYet by now several TM studies have found that after only a few weeks of TM practice, most of the PTSD symptoms simply disappear (and along with them all the other problems of anxiety, depression, insomnia, etc). Ref.Journal of Counseling and Development 64: 212–215. The results were so impressive that CNN recently did a feature on it (watch the CNN video) and several armies and police forces around the world are now actively advising and using TM, including the armies of Equador and Ukraine, the elite police in Brazil, the US army and the FBI. It’s simply the only treatment that has ever been proven to work.

But even better than healing problems is preventing them in the first place. If you remove the cause (stress), the symptoms (disease) will disappear as well. This was shown by 2 long-term studies, which followed 2000 and 1500 and TM practicioners  for a period of 5 and 15 years respectively. Both studies found a 50% decrease in doctor and hospital visits, and a 50% decrease in healthcare expenses. With the oldest (and typically the most expensive) patients, hospital visits went down by 70%.

2.3. Full brain coherence

The most spectacular effects of TM take place in the brain, and they can be easily measured through EEG brainwave coherence.

Each time a part of the brain is active there is an electrical activity, which can be visualized in the form of EEG brainwaves.

eeg-machine

A computer (or these days even a smartphone) can mathematically analyze these waves and calculate to what degree they are similar or coherent.

When we are in activity, this coherence is generally low (usually around 20%). Every experience will activate a different part of the brain, so during activity different parts are usually involved with different activities (seeing, hearing, moving your muscles etc.), and there is little coordination between them.

When we transcend, our wave becomes silent and we experience the ocean, the field where everything is interconnected. What happens in the brain during this experince is almost magical. All the parts of the brain will become coherent. (Ref: Cognitive processing, 11(1): 21-30, 2010)

brains

The amazing thing is that this can be measured in real time while somebody is practicing TM. You can see on this video how within seconds after starting TM EEG coherence maximises to 95-100% (5 min).

Complete brain coherence is unique to TM practice, it doesn’t show with other meditation practices, because the brain will only show this kind of coherence when it transcends, not with ordinary relaxation. There is no better way to distinguish transcending from ordinary relaxation than simply measuring EEG coherence.

The more we expose the brain to this experience, the more the brain will habituate to this experience and remain in this coherent state permanently, even outside of meditation. And that is a very good state to be in. More than 30 years of brain research has shown that EEG coherence is linked to emotional stability, IQ, creativity, learning ability, reflex speed etc. Basically the more your brain can function coherently, the more success you’ll have in life.

eeg

By far the most impressive results of this increased brain coherence, however, can be seen in a small school in Fairfield, Iowa, USA, which was founded by the TM organisation, where all the children practice TM twice a day as part of their school curriculum.

In sports we know that if people really want to become world champions, they should start practicing from an early age. In this case children start developing their brain from an early age (usually from the age of 5)…and they do become world champions when if it comes to brain sports.

world-champion-1More than 100.000 of the most creative children in the world participate in creative problem solving competitions like Destination imagination every year and yet the children of the Maharishi School have won 4 world championship titles and finished in the top 10 in several more. Needless to say, no other school in the world has come even close.

In a way you could say that these children simply have an unfair advantage.

It’s not that they try to keep this a secret, quite the opposite. In fact, already 10 years ago,the-new-york-times logo the most prestigious newspaper in the world, the New York Times put “TM in schools” on top of their list of best ideas of the year.  By now 450 schools in 60 countries are already using TM as part of their curriculum, and governments are now slowly starting to support it. The Government of Brazil is leading, having recently decided they’d like to bring TM to all their 48.000 public schools in the country.

We live in a scientific age, and want to see effects scientifically confirmed. Generally the rule is that the more studies that can independently verify a particular effect, the more reliable that effect becomes.

When it comes to TM research, not only are the benefits spectacular, but the research that confirms them is also extraordinary.

Here are again some of the benefits, and the amount of studies that have confirmed them:

  • Improved health, reversal of ageing >200 studies
  • Decreased stress, insomnia, anxiety, depression, PTSD >150 studies
  • Improved brain development, IQ, creativity, memory, concentration >80 studies
  • Improved happiness, relationships, love, job satisfaction >30 studies
  • Improved self-confidence, self-actualization, self-acceptance >20 studies
  • Improved emotional stability, decreased impulsivity, ADHD >10 studies
  • Overcoming addictions >40 studies
  • Decreased blood pressure, diabetes, cholesterol, heart disease >30 studies
3. If there’s a “miraculous drug”, why don’t we just use it?

Imagine that a pharmaceutical company would introduce a new drug that would remove your stress, make you healthier, happier, more self-confident, and far more intelligent… and all this without any side-effect. (None of the 350 published TM studies over the past 40 years found any negative effect).

Would you want this drug?Screen Shot 2016-03-25 at 13.20.11

Now imagine that these benefits were confirmed by more reliable scientific research than just about any other remedy on the market, and that this research has been carried out by almost all the most prestigious universities and research institutes, including Harvard, Stanford, Yale and the U.S. National Institutes of Health. Now imagine this research shows that this new drug is not only far more effective than most other drugs that are out there, but also far cheaper, and it would save our governments and healthcare insurers more than 50% of their healthcare expenses (about 30% of our taxes typically goes to healthcare expenses).

Do you think our healthcare insurers should reimburse this drug? (If you do, please sign this petition to get TM reimbursed)

Well then, why aren’t they? Why aren’t our governments making this available for everyone just like they make all other forms of healthcare available? Why aren’t they putting it into all our schools, so we can teach children from a young age to both reduce their stress and develop their full brain potentials?

The answer may be resistance from the mighty lobby of the medical industry, to which the small non-profit TM organisation is no match. I could imagine they wouldn’t be too excited about people learning to heal themselves… But that’s just speculation.

A far bigger issue is that people simply don’t understand how such a simple mental technique could have all these profound benefits, essentially solving many problems where modern medicine is simply powerless. This is because they look at TM from the Machine Paradigm point of view, and then it just doesn’t make sense.

You can throw any amount of TM research at people, and that is what 250 universities have been doing for 40 years, but if they don’t understand how it can work, no amount of research is going to convince them. All we can do is to show as many people as possible what transcending really is, from the perspective of the Field Paradigm.

And we’re actually only warming up.

If people had difficulties believing that transcending could have such profound effects on the individual level, they’ll have a much harder time when it comes to the most spectacular effect of transcending: The Field effect, where positivity is radiated throughout society.

IV. The Field Effect of transcending

waterAs we mentioned before, when we dive into the ocean we don’t just make a splash and enliven the qualities of interconnectedness in our own awareness (resulting in love, peace, brain coherence etc.), but we also create waves that spread all around us, causing others to remember their true nature as well. So that people spontaneously start to feel more connected to each other, and spontaneously start to behave in more loving ways.

It works just like a light bulb. How can a small light bulb light up an entire big room? lightbulbBecause the light bulb is connected to the whole room through an invisible field called the electromagnetic field. It will stir this field and its vibrations, light waves, will spread in all directions and light up the whole room.

What happens if we turn off the light? The field of light didn’t disappear, it’s still there, but it’s no longer enlivened, and as such we experience darkness.

When humans forgot to transcend, it’s like they forgot how to turn on the light. The resulting darkness we experience as negative thoughts, which will lead to negative actions: crime, corruption, conflicts, even wars. Negativity is just the absence of positivity (the absence of our true nature), just like darkness is only the absence of light.

And just like it only takes a few streetlights here and there to light up a whole city, it’s not even necessary that everyone learns to transcend in order to remove the darkness in everybody’s minds.

1. The 1% effect

In the 1960’s Maharishi predicted that if one person transcended, he’d be able to positively influence 100 people around him. In other words, if only 1% of the population learns to transcend, this will be sufficient to create a measurable effect for the entire city. Maharishi’s famous motto became:

Don’t fight the darkness, just turn on the light”

After the first TM researches came out in the early 70’s, so many people learned TM (half a million in the US alone in 1974) that several hundred cities actually had one per cent of their population practicing TM. So the scientists started researching if there was indeed a measurable effect. They found a consistent 20% decrease in crime rate compared to both the cities own previous trends and also compared to those cities that didn’t have 1% of their population transcending. They ruled out all other possible explanations for the change and the chances that this could have been a coincidence were smaller than one in a thousand.Ref.Journal of Crime and Justice vol. 4, 1981, pp 25-45.

So instead of having to teach everyone to transcend, it turned out that 1% of the population was actually sufficient to start making a difference.

This was a lot easier already. Suddenly world peace became a lot more feasible.

But while people inside the TM organisation were excited about the fact that they had found a practical technology to create peace in our world, the outside world didn’t quite share that enthusiasm. According to a Machine Paradigm point of view, such effects were utterly impossible. If this was true, it would be the first definitive scientific proof that we were in fact connected… and that the Machine Paradigm, together with the entire belief system we were educated in, was completely wrong.

People don’t like to be told they’re wrong, and they usually are not very grateful to those who start to shake up their entire belief system. They became suspicious and suddenly even rumours started that the TM organisation was a cult.

This was at a time when the whole world was shaken by stories from real cults with brainwashing, financial extortion and even mass suicides. So suddenly the logic became:

Strange = cult
Maharishi and TM = Strange
Conclusion made

As a result people inside the TM organisation started asking Maharishi if it wouldn’t be better just to focus on the personal benefits of TM, and not talk about the social effects – but he wouldn’t even consider this for a minute. This was a technology that could change the world, and they were going to talk about it. If people weren’t ready to understand now, then some day in the future they would be.

Rather than toning down his claims, Maharishi was just getting warmed up. He had a far more powerful technology still.

2. TM sidhi program: an even more powerful technology

In 1976 Maharishi started teaching an advanced TM technique called the TM sidhi program. These techniques had far more profound effects than just TM practice for the people themselves, but also far more powerful field effects. It was found that if people practice these advanced techniques together in one group, the effect became much stronger still, even growing with the square of the number of participants.

To illustrate how this works imagine 3 people that jump into a lake one after another. They will each create a wave that will have a certain height and power. This power will determine how far the wave will travel before it dies out, and as such it will define the circle of influence, the area on the lake it will enliven.

lakesNow imagine that instead of these 3 people jumping in the lake separately, they hold hands and jump in the lake together. The wave they create will become 3 times more powerful, and will travel 3 times further. This means that the area of the circle of influence will increase with the square of the radius, or 9 times.

With transcending it worked according to the same principles. 3 advanced TM meditators who create the influence together in one group could create the same effect as 9 individual TM practitioners from their own homes, an effect for 900 people.

With the effect growing with the square of the number of participants, the formula changed. Instead of 1% of people practicing TM on their own, they only needed the square root of 1%, as long as they practiced this advanced program in a group.

As you all know, a quadratic growth curve grows very quickly:

  • 20 advanced TM meditators together in one place will have the same effect as 400 individual TM meditators, for 40.000 people
  • 200 advanced TM meditators will have the same effect as 40.000 TM meditators, for 4.000.000 people
  • 2.000 advanced TM meditators will have the same effect as 4.000.000 TM meditators, for 400.000.000 people
  • 9.000 advanced TM meditators together in one place will have the same effect as 81.000.000 individual TM meditators, for 8,1 billion people.

Now, if most people in the world already felt that Maharishi and the TM organisation lost their minds when they started speaking about the 1% effect, can you even begin to imagine what they were thinking now? A group of people meditating is going to create world peace???

Again, Maharishi didn’t care. As a scientist he was simply excited about the possibilities this new advanced TM technology could offer in terms of scientific research.

Because the number of people needed to create a measurable effect was now relatively low – just a few hundred for an entire city or even an entire country was enough – scientists could now predict in advance that they were going to create a specific effect, like a decrease in crime rate or even reduction of warfare, in a specific region at a specific time. Then they simply bring enough advanced meditators together in one group, according to the square root of 1% formula, to create the effect as predicted.

This is what they’ve been doing for 30 years, with spectacular results.

3. Let’s see some examples
3.1. Wasington DC: crime rate decreased by more than 20%

One such experiment took place in the summer of 1994 in Washington DC, where they predicted in advance that they would decrease violent crime by 20%. They sent this prediction to all the major newsmedia and over 1400 scientists and politicians in the region. Responding to this prediction the Washington chief of police went on television to say that the only thing that would decrease crime by 20% would be 20 inches/half meter of snow. As this was not very likely in the summer, this was his way of saying: “impossible”. The Washington Police were spending one billion dollar per year on fighting crime and only saw crime rise by 10% per year.

DC

As the experiment started the group of advanced TM meditators started growing gradually, and as the group grew bigger, crime started going down more and more. By the end of the experiment, when the group was at its biggest size, violent crimes were down by 23%.

DC-250x185
The chance that this close relationship between increase in number of advanced TM meditators and decrease in crime could have been due to a coincidence was less than one in 500 million. The standard in science to claim a significant result is one in 20. This experiment was 25 million times better than the standard. The study got published in one of the most prestigious journals on social sciences in the world and… the Washington Police became a co-author of the study. Ref.Social Indicators Research (1999, vol. 47, no. 2).

3.2. But this was just crime. Could this technology actually stop wars?

Let’s go back to our original example of Lebanon, one the most stressed place in the world in the early 1980’s, with a constant civil war that had been raging for almost 20 years.

A group of scientists and volunteers did an experiment where they gathered a group of 200 advanced TM meditators in Jerusalem. They predicted that as soon as the group started 8 variables would improve at the same time, including crime rate in Jerusalem and Israel as a whole, fires, the stock market performance, the national mood (indicated by the cover story of the most important newspaper in the country) and the war in neighbouring Lebanon. They compiled all these 8 variables into one big Quality of Life index.

The experiment didn’t quite turn out as planned. Instead of one big group starting at the start date, and stopping at the end date, the numbers of participants fluctuated significantly throughout the experiment (they were all volunteers who had to go to work etc.) as plotted on this chart.

mtuf

This made the experiment all the more impressive, however.

Normally an index should fluctuate very little, as the random fluctuations of the individual elements tend to cancel each other out. This index was fluctuating significantly however, up to 3 standard deviations. When these fluctuations were plotted over the group size there was a very clear visible correlation.

jeruzalem

Remember the analogy of turning on the light and the darkness disappearing. Here we see exactly this, only in this case it’s as if somebody is playing with the dimmer. We turn it on a little more (a little more positivity enlivened) and the darkness (negative thoughts) disappears a little more. In this case this manifests in many different behaviours, whether it is with criminals on the streets of Jerusalem, with investors in the stock markets, or with soldiers in neighbouring Lebanon. These different behaviours have nothing in common, except for one thing: They are all driven by the degree of positivity in human thought.

During the time when the group was big enough to theoretically influence Lebanon, war deaths fell by 94%, from an average of 24.5 per day to 1.5 per day.

The study was published in the prestigious Yale edited Journal of conflict resolution, although it took more than 2 years before it was accepted for publication. Before the editors would risk the reputation of their journal by publishing such a strange study, they did a thorough research themselves:

  1. Was the statistical data correct (yes, they couldn’t find any flaw)
  2. Could it have been a coincidence (no, the chance of coincidence was smaller than one in 10.000)
  3. Was the increase of advanced TM meditators really the cause of changes (yes, analysis showed that the changes in group size came first, and the quality of life index followed)
  4. Could there have been any other cause that caused both the group size and the index to fluctuate (no, in a follow up study, all other possible causes (weekly and seasonal trends, special events etc.) were examined but none could have caused the effect that was created here).

When all these questions were answered to their satisfaction, the editors decided to publish the study. The hypothesis might have been unorthodox, but the data was solid. Ref.Journal of Conflict Resolution, vol. 32, no.4, Dec 1988, pp. 776-812.

6 more experiments like this one were organised over a period of 3 years. Each time they predicted in advance that they would stop, or at least significantly reduce, the Lebanon war. 3 experiments were in the local region with a few hundred advanced TM meditators, enough to create an influence for the whole region, while 4 experiments were in the US or Europe, but with groups of 5000 to 7000 advanced TM meditators, enough to create an effect for most of the world.

Later analysis showed that during these 7 experiments there was an average:

  • 66% mean increase in the level of cooperation among conflicting parties
  • 48% reduction in level of conflict
  • 68% reduction in war injuries
  • 71% reduction in war fatalities

The chance that such a strong decrease could happen 7 times in a row was one in ten million trillion. Ref.Journal of Social Behavior and Personality 17(1): 285–338, 2005

To again put this number in perspective,  the chance that you’ll win the lottery this week is about 2 trillion times bigger than the chance that this could have been a coincidence, rather than a true effective technology to create peace. Better go buy that lottery ticket…your chances never looked so good.

3.3. Could this technology also prevent terrorism?

The recent terrorist attacks in Brussels shows us one thing: we are powerless against terrorism. The government knew there was a terrorist attack coming, and had more police agents and soldiers on the street than ever before, and still they couldn’t stop it. As long as there is even one person on this planet with a desire to kill others, an internet connection to find the recipe to make a bomb and a suitcase to hide it, nobody will ever truly be safe.

The only way to be safe from terrorism is to make sure that nobody in the entire world still has the thought to blow up other people. This means it requires a technology to reach and influence everybody. The only technology that can do so is the field effect technology we’re discussing here.

And this has been tested.

During the 4 experiments when the group of advanced TM meditators was big enough to influence most of the world (3 experiments in the US, one in Holland) terrorist somehow felt much less of a desire to kill fellow human beings. Casualties and injuries due to terrorist acts decreased by 72%. Ref.Journal of Offender Rehabilitation 36: 283–302, 2003.

Military force practicing TM in Ecuador

While 72% is still not 100% it has to be added that it was still a significant improvement. The main thing about these experiments is that they generally had of a short duration, only lasting a few weeks, while the effect actually becomes stronger over time, as the positive effect accumulates.

So what would happen if a group of such advanced TM meditators could be established permanently, as a group of professional peacemakers?

3.4. Would it be possible to create permanent peace, then?

JoaquimChissano2This was extensively tested in Mozambique. In 1994 the president of Mozambique, Dr. Alberto Joaquin Chissano studied the scientific research, was impressed and decided to give it a try.

He learned TM himself and then simply ordered his entire army to learn Transcendental Meditation and its advanced techniques, and practice it daily in one big group. From that moment the civil war that had been raging for 17 years came to an abrupt end, and never started again. Over the next few years Mozambique, once the world’s poorest country, had the fastest growing economy in the world.

A few years later, in 1999, the New York Times wrote:

Seven years after the guns fell silent, Jackhammers are ringing, new hotels are rising, new schools are opening, and newly paved roads are rolling across the land.

The war-torn, once ravaged countryside is now lush with corn, cashews and mangoes. Inflation has dropped to 2%, from 70% in 1994. The economy has grown an average 10% a year since 1996. After years of relying on donated food, Mozambique now grows nearly enough to feed itself.

Once a symbol of Africa’s calamitous wars, Mozambique is now a success story.

Like these, more than 50 experiments have been organised. Each and every time the effects were predicted in advance, and each and every time they were so successful that often records were broken – record decreases in warfare, crime, car accidents, stockmarket performance etc. – These studies have led to 20 publications in international scientific journals.

If one study would show this effect, maybe an alternative cause that could be found, but if more than 40 studies have confirmed the same effect, anywhere in the world, where most of the times the effect was predicted in advance, it becomes very hard to find an alternative explanation. Read all the researches here.

These TM field effect studies are not only the first undisputable scientific proof that the Field Paradigm is real, but also form the first practical technology to really create a profound change like our world has never seen before.

3.6. Save costs, reduce taxes

Is this technology cost-effective? Yes, obviously, because there are actually very little costs involved, often there aren’t any costs at all. Generally if the advanced TM meditators practice their techniques together for one hour twice per day, this is enough to create the effect. So this group could be a group of students in a school, a group of prisoners or a group of people working together in the same company. They follow their normal daily routine, but just do their meditation on top.

At the same time this technology can create significant savings. For example, a permanent group of 120 advanced TM meditators near the city of Merseyside in the UK, decreased the crime rate by 60% compared to national trends over a period of 4 years, preventing 225.000 crimes and saving the Merseyside government $2 billion in crime related expenses. It was counted that for every hour the advanced TM meditators were doing their thing, the Government saved $6000.

Even if the meditators would be paid $30 per hour (they weren’t), it would still be 200 times cheaper than conventional methods of dealing with crime, while being far more effective at the same time.

And this was still a relatively small group. With the quadratic growth effect, a group that is 10 times as big would create the effect for 100 times more people, meaning that the cost per person influenced would go down 10 times.

All the 40 studies combined have shown that if we can change the way people think in a more positive direction, everything starts to change. Corruption disappears, healthcare costs go down, the economy improves, people use more of their full potential so there is less unemployment etc. All this means more income and fewer expenses for the government. The research leaves no doubts that governments would save so much money from these technologies that it should be relatively easy to reduce their taxes, at least the share of our taxes that now go to arms companies, the pharmaceutical industry, in the pockets of corrupt politicians etc.

So world peace, and lower taxes. Anybody who is not up for this?

V. Will you keep this a secret?

Hopefully by now you start to understand that there really is only one reason why we still have wars, crime, corruption, and ridiculously high taxes: because people are not aware that a better way exists.

Now you know and understand how these technologies work: will you keep them a secret, or will you share them with others so that together with them you can demand your government to learn about them and implement them?

Here’s a few things you could do:

1. Share this website. Flood the internet, e-mail your entire contact database… don’t stop until everyone knows and understands these technologies. Don’t be discouraged if not everybody is open to this message. You’ll find that some people are still so stuck in the Machine Paradigm that they’re just not ready for this. Don’t bother with them, just find the ones who are open. There are more than enough such people out there to make something happen.

2.Study the scientific research.  I spent years researching and all the TM field effect experiments and writing about them. The result is a fascinating and compelling story, not just about how the research became more and more impressive, showing that this is a technology that can change the world, but about it already has changed our world. In fact, often the experiments were just an excuse to create the effect where it was most needed, to prevent the fire of rising stress in the collective consciousness from spreading to the whole world. (yes, they did play a major role in stopping the cold war) This story was originally meant for my book, but instead I’m offering it all here on this website for free. Read the story: 40 experiments that can change our world…and have already changed our world.

3.Be the light: learn TM yourself. This is probably the best thing you can do, both for lightbulbyourself (unless you don’t care about things like reducing stress, happiness, health, or improving your creativity) and for the world. Learn to transcend as soon as possible, and don’t stop there. Take advanced techniques and eventually the TM-Sidhi course to become an advanced TM meditator.

As a non-profit organisation, the TM movement usually teaches projects that could lead to large groups of Yogic Flyers for free, and even financially supports such groups (see below), as that is its ultimate goal. On the other hand it covers its running costs by offering TM courses for individuals who want to learn it for their own benefit. So by learning TM you’re also contributing to the world peace project.

Learning TM consists out of 4-5 sessions of 2 hours each to learn the technique, plus a follow-up program over the next 6 months to ensure correct practice and refine your experiences. Once people learn they have a lifelong right to retake the course for free. The course fee in Ireland (all included) is 600€.

Ideally this course fee should be reimbursed by our health insurers. There is more than enough research showing that it is both a lot cheaper and a lot more effective than most other treatments. Unfortunately we’re not there yet, but you can help by signing this petition. It only takes one minute.

As long as it’s not reimbursed the training is a significant personal investment, but I can promise you it will likely be a very good investment.

There’s actually also research to support this: the department of education in San Francisco spent 8 years researching TM in schools. When they did a survey of 700 teachers and students who participated in the studies, they found that 95% felt TM was easy, effective and valuable.

In another study, a Pan-European survey where 450 TM meditators were asked how they would consider TM as an investment,  97% felt it was a good investment, and 35% even felt it was the best investment they’ve ever done. (The 3 to 5% who didn’t feel it was a good investment were generally the ones didn’t take the time to take the follow up program properly.)

The first step on your TM journey is to simply attend a free TM info seminar in a TM center near you. There you can meet your teacher, have him/her explain you how the TM technique works and what benefits you can expect, and ask any questions you want. (The info seminar takes about 1.5 to 2 hours and is completely for free and without any obligation to take the rest of the course).

Info seminars and courses are organized across Ireland but are usually booked full quickly, so it’s important to reserve your seat in advance. Click on the link to reserve your seat. If none of the dates fit you, can ask to be kept up to date when new lectures will be planned.

5.Support a group of Yogic Flyers in the middle east, US, or India. Below we just want to give a vision of the kind of projects that are already going on now to create the effect of world peace. These projects cost a lot of money if you’re not either a government or a millionaire, so you might not be able to support them yourself. But maybe you know somebody who can. There are quite a few ridiculously rich people who have pledged a large part of their wealth to the creation of a better world. (Bill Gates, Warren Buffet, Mark Zuckerberg etc.) All we have to do is let them know that with even a tiny small fraction of what they pledged, they could actually create a better world overnight.

There are 2 large groups of Yogic Flyers that are already formed but need support to expand, in India (2,500 now, needs to expand to 16,000) and the US (8oo now, needs to expand to 2,000), and one that needs to be urgently created in the Middle east (2,000). To support any of these projects please contact me at joachim@fieldparadigm.dev, so I can put you in touch with the right person to follow up.

Middle east peace project. (total cost $10 million)
I promised that we’d present a practical project to use this technology to stop the Syria war and end the terrorism threat from Islamic State.

If we count the population of the entire Middle East, we come to about roughly 400 million. According to the square root of 1% formula, we’d need a group of 2000 Yogic Flyers to create a measurable effect for the entire region.

The proposal is to create this group in Turkey, as there it’s still relatively safe, but it’s close enough to create an effect for the whole region. The project would need to be coordinated with a local university in Turkey, to turn it into a thorough scientific study.

Phase one (first 3 months):

Fly 2000 existing Yogic Flyers to Turkey to create the effect immediately, while training 4000 Syrian refugees or local Turks in the TM program, as a preparation to train them in the advanced techniques.

We budget the cost of travel, staying expenses and some salaries (if we ask people from all over the world to give up their jobs and come to Turkey for 3 months) at $1000 per person per month. We also budget the costs of training 4000 refugees at $100 per person for training expenses plus $50 per month in salary costs for them to already practice TM for 20 minutes twice per day in group sessions.

Total for phase 1 would be $7 Million, and this will already be sufficient to bring peace to the entire Middle East.

Phase 2 (next 9 months)

After 3 months of regular TM practice, experience shows that at least 2000 of the 4000 refugees or Turkish citizens we trained will be ready to take the advanced TM sidhi program. We budget $200 per person to take the training, plus $150 per month in salary costs for them to come do their TM Sidhi practice twice a day in a big group (2 sessions of 2 hours each).

Training: $400,000
Salary costs: $300,000 per month for 9 months
Total costs: $ 3.1 Million

Support a group of Yogic Flyers in the US. ($1 million per month)
From 2007 till 2014, a private donor has spent an average $1 Million per month to pay a professional salary to more than 1000 Yogic Flyers at Maharishi University of Management. Along with all the students and other volunteers this allowed them to have a permanent group of around 1500 Yogic Flyers during this whole period.

Before the project started, a public announcement was made, to scientists and the press, that the US would start to see a dramatic continuous decrease in crime rate for as long as the group could remain together. That was exactly what happened. Crime started to go down from the end of 2006 till 2008, right until the financial crisis, where millions of people lost their jobs.

At that time every expert on criminal statistics, and just about every police officer in the US predicted that crime would see a strong increase again, as that is always what happens when unemployment rises. Yet this time it didn’t happen. Contrary to all predictions, crime rate kept going down even during the financial crisis. By 2010 crime had decreased by 20% across the US, in spite of all circumstances predicting a strong increase. This study is about to be published in a well-known scientific journal. (I’ll add the reference as soon as I have it).

Here are the monthly homicide and crime rates. (crime rate always has seasonal trends, going up in summer and down in winter, but you can clearly see the long-term trends, an increase before 2007, and a decrease afterwards, as predicted in advance).

US-Homicide

There’s only so much one private person can do, however. After spending more than $100 million on this project, the private donor had to face the reality that his funds weren’t unlimited, and he had to cut down his support.

So here is a project where, according to the FBI statistics, close to 800,000 violent crimes and 10.000 homicides were prevented through this technology from 2007 to 2012, saving the US government billions, but where the project was still discontinued because of lack of funds.

Obviously the hope is that enough people will become aware of this technology so that eventually the government will take it on, but until that moment the project needs new private support so that it can continue. Supporting a Yogic Flyer in the US costs about $1000 per month, and we’d need to find support for 1200 Yogic Flyers to create the effect for the whole of the US.

Global group of 16.000 Yogic Flyers in India. ($250 per Yogic Flyer, $4M per month)
Several years ago the TM organisation bought 800 hectares (2000 acres) of land and started building an entire city for up to 16.000 professional Yogic Flyers, who would make creating world peace their full-time profession. They already have 2,500 Yogic Flyers there now, sponsored largely through private donations, but need more funds to expand to 16,000. This will be large enough to “light up the whole world”, create a wave on the Unified Field that is strong enough to have a positive influence on the thinking of every single citizen on Earth. (theoretically 9,000 would be sufficient, but Maharishi felt that there should be a reserve). This is really the only way we can be sure that all wars and all terrorism can stop.

India was chosen as a location due to its low labour costs. For a cost of $250 per month they can support a full time employee there, including living expenses. $4Million per month for 16.000 sounds like a lot, but it’s nothing compared to what our governments spend on warfare and defence every day. It was counted that if $1 Billion would be set aside on a world-peace fund, they’d be able to maintain the group on a permanent basis, just from the interest rates. The US government alone spends $1 billion per day.

The TM organisation has done such a project before. From 1987 to 1989 a private donor paid singlehandedly to create a group of 7,000 permanent Yogic Flyers, enough to theoretically generate an influence for the whole world at that time (when the global population was around 5 billion). That was the time when the Iran-Iraq war came to an end, the Berlin wall fell and the largest army in the world, the soviet army, disintegrated without firing a single shot. It could have been a coincidence that these events happened at the same time, but those who were involved knew it was not.

As we said before, today we have the technology to permanently create world peace, and the technology is so powerful that one government, or even one single person, could make it happen for the whole world. All we have to do is to make sure that as many people as possible know that this technology exists, until we find that one person.

Thank you for taking the time to read this, and I hope you’ll find ways to make it happen.
